For feasibility reasons, we decided to scrap the idea of creating a narrative-based app experience that uses a script. The previous idea relied heavily on beacons or geo-fencing to detect where the user is within the subway. The app’s script would be based on where the person is positioned in the station.
Our new version is a nested tree structure. After our user interviews, we decided to focus our efforts on communicating the visual signage of entrances & exits, platform locations, arrival times, and service changes. The idea is that the beacons would trigger the app to show relevant information based on where the user is standing. Most importantly, the app serves to deliver the information in a structured an organized format through iOs’s voice over function.
Below are photos of our white board session. In this session, we each attempted to visualize the components or structure.
